The Rumbachiva or Chiva Rumbera in Spanish is a typical Colombian bus adapted to rural public transport, especially considering the mountainous geography of the Andean region. The origin of the Rumbachiva goes back to the early 20th century in the Antioquia Department (Colombia), where an engineer and a mechanic, Luciano Restrepo and Roberto Tisnés respectively, both Colombians, built the first model which at first was very basic, the newer models were modified with a roof rack so the passengers could transport their goods.

As time went on, Chivas stopped being part of the public transport and started being a tourist attraction, gaining lots of recognition to the point of being named cultural heritage of Colombia in 2008.

Ever since the Rumbachiva has been an emblematic and colorful Bus that represents the Colombian culture at its finest, we are about to have 1 century of tradition and that’s why we would like to show you what awesome things this path has brought. Nowadays, you can find Chivas all over the world, but here in Miami, we have the most special of them all, capable of showing you what a real Colombian Chiva is and what a great time you can have while riding and partying.

One recommendation for the newcomers is that you might want to bring comfortable clothes so you can enjoy every song and every activity done inside the Rumbachiva.

The main goal of being on a Chiva it’s not just to sing, dance, or have a good time “pasarlo chevere” but the fact that you can actually spend time with your friends, family, coworkers, or maybe by yourself and get to know other people matching your vibe, riding around the streets of Miami but feeling 100% Colombian, with the music, the lights, the history, etc.

Here in Miami, the Rumbachiva is the first choice when it comes to special celebrations, night outs, bachelorettes, birthdays, and so on, always good if you want to try something new with that Latino flavor that everyone loves. Rumbatours have been known to be highly ingrained in the Miami nightlife and now with the Rumbachiva, you can almost feel that you are in Colombia while having some drinks with your friends near Wynwood.
